While most of our clients are in Alberta, we're open to going beyond our Calgary office to be remote within Canada.

• You understand how the web works. You've built projects with many of the technologies we like to use such as JAM solutions with React/NextJS/Sanity, LAMP solutions with Wordpress/Drupal/SilverStripe, front end theming and animation with GSAP and Three.js, and you can quickly evaluate and understand the merits and paradigms of technologies you've never used before.
• You're analytical and strategic. You analyze business requirements and creative flats to design responsible technology solutions that deliver an engaging experience. You draw from your experience and your team's perspective to create consensus in a technology approach that showcases its strengths and avoids pitfalls.
• You're a strong communicator. The only thing you might be more passionate about than writing code is working with people. You speak and write clearly and constructively, tailoring your communications to the audience it is intended for so that you can share your insight meaningfully and create an understanding of the value our team is providing.
• You lead by doing. You are able to jump into the code to support other developers, and you can unblock team members and connect them with the resources they need. Your familiarity with web delivery allows you to provide guidance for your team on project setup, code management, performance and optimization, continuous deployment, hosting and ops.

While we're always looking for people with a broad range of diverse skills, this opportunity is specifically valuing web application/product development lead experience — we're looking for strong JAM stack skills and familiarity with building web apps from back-to-front, with experience in user authentication, databases, architecting and testing of rich single page web app products.

A day in the life

Working at an agency, you'll have the opportunity to work with various clients across a diverse range of industries simultaneously. One day you might be swapping out in-site search technologies on a live website, looking at APIs of competing services and putting together estimates for sign off and implementation. Another day you might lead the development of a front end pattern library to drive a new design of a client's digital ecosystem. No day is the same.

That said, there are a few activities that will likely take up most of your time. These include:

• Being the authoritative and reliable technology voice on your accounts.
• Collaborating with your developer team, the other disciplines of the project team, and the client to architect, estimate and describe a digital solution.
• Leading the day-to-day technical delivery on projects, helping write code, supporting developers with their tasks, evaluating technology approaches and managing deliverables.
• Exploring industry trends, best development practices and solutions and empowering the team to grow their skills.
