NEW OPPORTUNITY:
POOL ATTENDANT

Microtel Inn & Suites Aurora, ON

Reporting to the General Manager or their designate, the Pool Attendant will be responsible for participating in the activities of the maintenance department in a manner that will ensure hotel guests are provided with a well-maintained pool area. They will maintain and secure all equipment within the pool area.

This position is part-time and requires availability to work early mornings, late evenings and weekends.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attend to pool area to ensure safe operations and friendly service, assisting guests with water slide operation
  • Follow and adhere to swimming pool safety plan for the swimming pool and waterslide
  • Assist with preventative maintenance throughout the pool area to ensure the safe and efficient running of all equipment
  • Report and escalate maintenance issues as required
  • Maintain pool/waterslide area and tidiness
  • Maintain the safe and hygienic upkeep of the swimming pool using all chemicals in accordance with management and/or manufacturer's instructions
  • Carry out other assignments requested by management

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience Required

  • Previous pool / lifeguard experience considered an asset
  • Experience with basic hand tools

Mission Critical Competencies

  • Mechanically inclined
  • Strong attention to detail, quality workmanship
  • Ability to demonstrate being a team player
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Desired Education

  • A High School Diploma or GED required
  • First Aid CPR level C certification preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Approximately 16-20 hours per week, mainly weekends. May be occasionally required to work early mornings, evenings and/or holidays.
  • Will be required to complete pool operations and emergency procedure training
  • Will be required to complete First Aid CPR level C training if a valid certification has not been obtained
  • Ability to complete repetitive tasks with same high level of consistency and quality
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
