PROJECT Manager

Our product has created quite the buzz, so we need to add a Project Manager who shares our passion for innovative technology, social impact for good, and the thrill of helping companies grow.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the design, planning, scheduling, and installation of multiple projects of the SmartONE Solution to multi dwelling buildings deployed across North America. Some travel outside of the GTA may be required. The primary function of this role will be to manage the overall delivery of our portfolio of communities, collaborating with a team of Engineers who design and coordinate custom solutions. This role will also involve inventory management and equipment ordering, and to aid in organizing and managing site installations. In preparation for the planning and execution role, hands on training will be provided. In the management role, you will collaborate with residential developers in the early planning stages to develop a smart community vision that uses technology to enhance the living experience in communities. You will then collaborate with the developer and consultants through the steps detailed below to take this concept from an idea to the finished operating community.

What you will be doing

  • Lead project teams in scheduling, planning, cost, and quality management.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders, assign tasks, and ensure successful SmartONE system deployment.
  • Manage end-to-end project documentation, including reports and ad-hoc tasks for project smooth operation.
  • Assist Lead Engineer in technical evaluation and communication of design requirements to clients.
  • Handle multiple projects concurrently, ensuring objectives are met.
  • Communicate actively with internal departments based on project needs.
  • Lead and mentor coordinators, ensuring quality work and professional growth.
  • Conduct site visits to address issues and compile construction progress reports.
  • Serve as a primary contact for stakeholders, participating in project meetings and collaborating with the implementation team to establish project plans.
  • Utilize an internal project management tool to collaborate with the project team in developing baseline schedules that align with the project team's requirements.
  • Other responsibilities as required in support of the SmartONE mission.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to manage and adapt to multiple priorities and timelines.
  • Strong presentation skills (virtually and in-person)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Well oriented and high attention to details.
  • Strong scheduling and effective time management skills.
  • Experience working without supervision and in a team.
  • MS Office proficiency.
  • Knowledge of Bluebeam, and Procore are considered an asset.
  • Organized, Open, Positive Attitude, interested in Technology and how it shapes the future world.
  • This is not a work-from-home or hybrid job opportunity. The role requires in-office presence.
  • Vehicle with a drivers license and a clean driving record is mandatory.
  • If not already residing in GTA, should be willing to relocate.

Some of your talents include

  • A university degree or diploma in engineering, architecture, construction management, project management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of working experience in project management supporting the delivery of projects in areas such as construction, engineering, home automation is required.
  • CAPM, PMP certification or actively working towards obtaining one is considered an asset.
  • Previous exposure to contractor and design management is considered an asset.
  • Technical background in structured cabling and networking technologies is considered an asset.
  • Experience in documenting project tasks, procedures, and construction scheduling of multi dwelling buildings is considered an asset.
