Why is this role open:

As the firm is continuing to expand its presence on the west coast, they are seeking to grow their team. They are currently looking to add an Intermediate Architect / Intern Architect who can support and lead on their projects. Working closely with senior architects and the design director of the studio the Intermediate Architect / Intern Architect will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of high rise residential projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the design team to develop and refine the architectural concept, ensuring it aligns with the project's vision and objectives.
  • Ensure that the high-rise design meets all relevant building codes, zoning regulations, and safety standards.
  • Prepare detailed construction drawings, specifications, and documents, including floor plans, elevations, sections, and details necessary for permitting and construction.
  • Participate in project management activities, including scheduling, budgeting, and tracking project progress.
  • Incorporate sustainable design principles and practices into the high-rise project, striving for energy efficiency and environmental responsibility.
  • Prepare and participate in client presentations to discuss design concepts, project updates, and design solutions.
  • Address design challenges and unforeseen issues that may arise during the design and construction phases of high-rise projects.

Must haves:

  • 5+ years of experience;
  • Must be registered with the AIBC or eligible to register with the AIBC;
  • Experience in multiple typologies an asset;
  • Exceptional design, communication, organization and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong in Revit
Nice-to-haves:
  • Technical understanding of building construction detailing including experience in mid-rise and high-rise mixed-use buildings an asset;
  • Project management experience an asset.Experience with passive house and net zero design principles including energy modeling, daylighting analysis and life cycle assessment tools are an asset.Hybrid
