Our Fire Shop Technician's are responsible for completing and supporting inspection, testing and repair work related to fire protection and related equipment. Some of the additional expectations of this role include:

  • Inspecting, testing, and servicing fire extinguishers.
  • Inspecting and testing fire hoses.
  • Servicing life-saving appliances.
  • Ensuring timely and quality completion of work orders.
  • Completing daily reports of completed work orders and activities.
  • Monitoring parts inventory and equipment maintenance requirements.
  • Following all safe work practices and safety leadership is demonstrated in all aspects of the job.
  • Participating in on-call/call out emergency service as required.

The successful candidate must be:

  • A motivated, self-starter focused on working safely.
  • Detail oriented, ensuring their work is completed according to guidelines and specifications.
  • Customer service driven.
  • Able to work with a team and independently, to deliver high-quality service and support to our customers.
  • Flexible to the changing situations and priorities in our business.

They must also possess the following experience and/or education:

  • NOTE: All combinations of education in a related and experience will be considered. Give the nature of this role, on-the-job training is also provided.
  • Ability or aptitude to operate various power tools and machinery.
  • Background or desire to work in a hands-on work environment.
  • Demonstrated mindset towards continuous learning.
  • Ability to use/learn technology solutions in the execution of their work is a must.
  • They must also possess a valid driver's license.

Overtime may be necessary; therefore, flexibility in hours of work will be required. A Candidate with previous experience in fire protection experience or experience in related field would be preferred.
