Job Title: Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic

Location: Leduc AB

Type: Full-Time, Year-Round

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Equipment Maintenance & Repair

    • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
    • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems.
    • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that the work meets manufacturers' specifications.
    • Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery.
  2. Training & Mentorship

    • Provide hands-on training and mentorship to Indigenous apprentices, sharing knowledge and expertise.
    • Monitor the progress of apprentices and provide feedback to improve their skills and knowledge.
    • Foster a positive learning environment that encourages questions and growth.
  3. Safety Compliance

    • Adhere to all workplace safety policies, regulations, and best practices.
    • Ensure equipment and tools are maintained in safe operating condition.
    • Report any unsafe conditions or incidents to the management team.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic certification.
  • Proven experience with civil and forestry equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with computerized diagnostic equipment and modern repair methods.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
