We operate out of an integrated facility in North Vancouver. Our shop is modern, clean, well-organized, with the right mix of skilled people and equipment to get the job done. Our main office, which includes our team of in-house engineers, is strategically located right next door. This allows us to move seamlessly from design and consultation straight, directly to manufacturing. Mantech completes a wide variety of projects, including small components forming part of larger machinery our customers manufacture, through to assembled in-house completed systems.

Reporting to the Sales Manager and working alongside an experienced Mechanical Estimator, the right person will embody these core values and take ownership of the responsibilities listed below to succeed.

Our current manufacturing equipment includes 5-Axis CNC's w/ Pallet Changers; multiple Haas CNC Machining Centers; Okuma CNC Lathe; Omax Waterjet; CMM Measurement; fully equipped fabrication & manual machine shops. ProShop, our ERP system, is designed for and used by manufacturing industries.

The Opportunity – Mechanical Estimator

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and identify gaps & manufacturability solutions in mechanical drawings.
  • Discuss & refine project requirements with customers and review with our in-house teams.
  • Identify required labour, machine, material, finishing, and logistics requirements to provide cost-effective solutions.
  • Preparation of detailed cost estimates and/or quotations.
  • Estimate & quotation follow-up with customers.
  • Order entry, PO verification, & work order creation.
  • Analyze manufacturability & liaise with the engineering & manufacturing teams to provide cost effective solutions to customers.
  • Utilize sales history to generate and manipulate cost estimation using our ProShop ERP system and then align estimation with margin targets.
  • Develop a comprehensive knowledge of our manufacturing processes and capabilities.
  • Utilization of your strong problem-solving abilities & good interpersonal skills to independently take on an assignment, collaborate as required, and see it through to its successful completion.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A proven track record as an Estimator in a manufacturing environment.
  • A minimum 2 to 3 years of estimating experience desired.
  • Thorough understanding of current machining, fabrication, measurement techniques & principles.
  • A customer service focused attitude with the ability to remain calm and tactful in fast-paced & stressful situations.
  • Ability to multitask, plan, organize activities, & establish priorities for workflow.
  • Must be organized and have excellent time management skills.
  • Proficient with ProShop or other ERP systems & the Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Electrical and/or mechanical interest/aptitude is an asset.
  • Ability to operate in and maintain a safe, clean workplace.
  • English Proficiency. Written and verbal.
  • You must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • Hybrid work options available after probationary period at the discretion of the Sales Manager.

  • Training will be provided in-house along with on-going mentorship, professional development & opportunities for advancement.
