We are looking for a bright self-starter who can assist our firm's current real estate paralegal with the conveyancing side of our practice. We are looking for someone with at least two (2) years of conveyancing experience who can handle purchase, sale and refinance files independently. The ideal candidate has experience handling files from end-to-end from the moment of client intake, to document requests, preparing undertaking letters, trust reconciliation, filings and closing.
A non-exhausting list of tasks to expect are as follows:
- Client intake
- Opening files on eConveyance
- Requesting strata documents
- Requesting insurance binder
- Requesting payout statements from lenders
- Entering figures into our accounting software (Unity Accounting, formerly ESI Law)
- Generating purchase, sale, and financing documents
- Presenting files to the responsible lawyer on a file for review and comment
- Conducting trust reconciliations
- Assisting with Land Title Filings
- Generating invoices and posting transactions in our accounting software
$64,000 - $68,000 yearly

- Greeting clients and communicating with clients throughout
- Collection and scanning of identification.
- Ordering couriers, preparing mail and packages going out.
- Excellent interpersonal skills are required for this position.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically MS Word and Outlook, is essential.
- Familiarity with Unity Law and eConveyance is preferred, but not mandatory.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working at a law firm is necessary.
- A positive and proactive attitude is highly valued.
