Job Summary

Canlan Sports is looking for a full-time Graphic Designer.

Reporting to the Design Lead, our Graphic Designer will execute our content marketing strategy and omni-channel ad campaigns. You'll be present for, and contribute to ideation and strategy sessions, while championing best-in-class design practices, be accountable, and effectively communicate with the team.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Collaborate with the Design Lead, Manager of Content Strategy and Marketing Director to support the strategic marketing vision for all brands and provide best-in-class creative.
  • Assist in presenting creative concepts to multiple stakeholders that successfully address business and marketing goals and objectives.
  • Support the print and distribution process, including quoting and national distribution.
  • Support vendor relationships that relate to creative and marketing tasks and projects
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • Minimum 3-year post-secondary accreditation in Graphic Design and/or related field
  • 2-3 years of design experience, preferably in the sports industry.
  • Strong Design Fundamentals: You possess a solid foundation of visual fundamentals of design, such as hierarchy, typography, color theory, contrast, etc.
  • Technical Proficiency: Having additional skills and expertise in other design tools and software is highly valued and will greatly enhance your candidacy for this role.
  • Proficient in industry-standard design software, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects).
  • Photo manipulation skills using Photoshop to create effects and enhance visual elements such as photography.
  • Strong illustration skills with a focus on sports design, showcasing the ability to create dynamic and energetic visuals that capture the excitement of sports.
  • Proficiency in Figma for UI/UX design, demonstrating your ability to design intuitive interfaces and optimize user interactions.
  • Understanding of coding languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript). Effective collaboration with development teams and seamless integration of design and functionality.
  • Knowledge of motion design and video editing software, such as Adobe After Effects or Premiere Pro, is a plus, supporting the creation of dynamic and engaging multimedia content.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and Kanban-style Project Management platforms
  • Collaboration and Communication: You should be able to work effectively in a team environment, communicate your ideas clearly, and actively participate in discussions and critiques. The ability to give and receive constructive feedback is essential.
  • Adaptability and Learning Mindset: Design is an evolving field with emerging trends, tools, and technologies. You should demonstrate a willingness to learn, adapt, and stay updated with industry developments.
