Job Title: HRIS Application TesterJob ID: CV5108328720Location: Vancouver, BC – RemoteOverview:Reporting to the Global Process Owner (GPO), the HRIS Application Tester is primarily responsible evaluate and assessing SAP SuccessFactors, Payroll, and/or Workforce Time Attendance to make them function at the desired level. Besides checking software's functionality, they perform record and document tests that engage maximum user interface. The HRIS Application Tester will assess software quality through manual and automated testing, being responsible for finding and reporting bugs and glitches. In this role should have a keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills. Be competent in executing test cases and documenting the results. Ultimately, this role will ensure that our applications and interfaces work correctly. What you will be doing:
  • Analyze Specifications: Before they begin performing any tests, Testers will need to review and analyze the specifications of their company's software. This involves going over the system and its documentation, familiarizing oneself with the software's objectives, and evaluating the system requirements.
  • Develop Tests: After they've analyzed the software's specifications, Testers must collaborate with GPOs to develop comprehensive test plans and test scripts.
  • Execute Tests: Once they've developed an effective testing plan and test scripts, Testers will execute the tests. These tests can be either automated or manual, and they can test the software and integrations as a whole or just part of it.
  • Document Bugs: As each test is executed, Testers will be required to record bugs, glitches, and other flaws in great detail. This documentation will later be used by consultants to fine-tune the application.
  • Troubleshoot Issues: Often, Testers will need to do more than just identify bugs; they'll also need to help consultants think of ways to fix those bugs
  • Re-Test Software: Testers must continue to test the application on an ongoing basis. This ensures that the defects were fixed and that the application is ready to be promoted into production
Train:
  • The testers work in groups, so one of their function is to train other testers or SMEs, bring them up to speed, and support each other
  • Reviewing and analyzing system specifications and design
  • Document test cases and test scripts
  • Executing test scripts and analyzing results for all testing phases of the implementation program
  • Reporting and documenting technical issues
  • Collaborate GPOs to develop effective strategies and test plans
  • Evaluate Application design according to specifications
  • Help troubleshoot issues
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the application implementation program
  • Provide support to other testers or SMEs to test the application
  • Their ongoing goal is to reduce the number of bugs in software and identify as many errors as possible.
What you must have:
  • 3 to 7 years of Software knowledge - First and foremost, Testers must be intimately familiar with the type of software they're going to be testing. In this case: SAP Success Factors-Payroll and Workforce Time and Attendance
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Attention to detail - Since glitches in a program might not make themselves entirely apparent, Testers must have excellent attention to detail to identify even the most well-hidden bugs
  • Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Documentation skills - Because such a large portion of their job relies on recording and reporting the problems they find; Testers must have advanced documentation skills.
  • Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Tester or similar role
  • Experience in QA methodology
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing is a plus
  • Ability to document and troubleshoot errors
  • Working knowledge of test management software, DevOps is desirable

  • BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and training skills
  • Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving skills i.e. skilled at identifying and analyzing large volumes of information, ability to develop a deep understanding of key issues quickly (business processes and system related), meticulously analyzing and investigating the business problems independently and in collaboration with the technical team propose options/solutions to business stakeholders in simple business terms.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment and manage multiple assignments simultaneously with tight deadlines.
  • Experience with DevOps is desirable
  • SAP Succes Factors and Workforce is desirable
  • Familiarity with the Mining or Natural Resources industry is desirable
  • Experience working in large organizations, at Enterprise, Business Unit, and Operating Unit levels.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel (O365 preferred)
  • Willing to be “hands-on” when required
