You

You will

  • Oversee day to day management of the property
  • Lead and oversee the development and performance of the in-house property team
  • Prepare and execute the annual operating and capital budgets and monthly financial reporting
  • Oversee the rent collection process and initiate appropriate action as required to collect arrears
  • Ensure tenants are operating in accordance with their lease obligations. Respond to and resolve issues, following established policies and precedents
  • Develop specifications for, negotiate, and administer service contracts for third-party service contractors/trades ensuring the business plan standards are achieved, and consistent & efficient high-quality services are in place
  • Conduct regular property inspections and ensure property is maintained and operated to an Anthem standard and has great curb appeal
  • Ensure preventative maintenance is completed and building systems are functioning in an efficient and first-class manner with an emphasis on conserving energy and controlling utility costs
  • Minimize risk and ensure safety by proactively updating and implementing site policies, emergency response policies, insurance matters, and ensuring prompt response to all perils
  • Coordinate tenant move-ins and move outs and work with construction team on tenant build-outs or Landlord's work
  • Establish strong relationships with tenants and develop & maintain programs to foster positive tenant and customer relations.
  • Develop, organize and execute advertising, promotions and special events for the shopping centres.
  • Remain current regarding the market area, business trends, community initiatives, and other matters affecting the property
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation
  • Work collaboratively with other team members in leasing, asset management, construction, accounting, and development and all other stakeholders
  • Be on call for property emergencies

You have

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience managing retail real estate/enclosed shopping centres an asset
  • An active Ontario Real Estate license is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office and Excel
  • Valid driver's license and vehicle
