Title: Event Coordinator

Reports to: CEO

Based at: Head Office

Pay Range: $17 - 21 based on education and experience

Hours: Part time summer term, 20hrs/week, May-August

Description:

SCP is celebrating its 25th anniversaries and there will be a series of events from June - August, 2024. We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Event Coordinator to join our team for the summer term and spearhead the planning, coordination, and execution of the anniversary celebrations. As the Event Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating, and executing various events and initiatives to commemorate our organization's 25th anniversary. The Event Coordinator will work with the CEO, senior management team and event planner to plan the event. Organizing and coordinating logistics of the event will largely be the responsibility of the Event Coordinator. The Event Coordinator must be committed and willing to have fun in this role.

Qualifications (Education & Experience)

  • Prior experience in event planning, coordination, or management, preferably in a non-profit or community-focused setting is an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and teams.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for creating memorable and impactful event experiences.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality and excellence in execution.
  • Good knowledge of budget management will be a plus.

Requirements (Skills & Competencies)

  • Valid Driver's License with Driver's Abstract
  • Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Clearance

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive event plan and timeline for the anniversary celebrations, including budget management, venue selection, vendor coordination, and logistics planning.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams, volunteers, and external partners to ensure seamless execution of events and initiatives.
  • Support marketing and promotional efforts to generate excitement and awareness around the anniversary celebrations.
  • Manage event registrations, RSVPs, and attendee communications to ensure a positive guest experience.
  • Evaluate the success of each event and provide recommendations for future improvements and enhancements.
  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reports related to event planning activities.
