Position Overview:

Reporting directly to the Northern Interior Manager, the successful Engineer in Training will be involved primarily in resource projects and will possess a strong background working with a motivated and dynamic team of professionals. Successful applicants will participate in the provision of engineering services from proposal stage through planning, design, construction and commissioning of projects. Fieldwork is an integral part of this position and applicants must demonstrate an ability to work in and efficiently traverse adverse environments.

Major Job Functions:

  • Site surveying (total station and GPS)
  • Road and Bridge design
  • Preparing engineering drawings
  • Coordinating project drawings and reports
  • Site and construction inspections
  • Project management and contract administration

  • Excellent attention to detail, work accuracy/numeracy and quality orientated
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships across all levels of the business

  • Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Effective problem-solver with strong analytical skills

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Forest Engineering and eligible for registration with EGBC as an EIT
