We are looking for an amazingly awesome Environmental Division Manager to come and join our Okanagan team. You would be based out of Vernon or Kelowna, but West Kelowna or Lake Country could be home as well. We have been in operation for over 27 years in BC, starting out in forestry, now branching out into environmental operations, wildfire management and recreation solutions. We have a solid, competent team of mentors to assist with professional development that combined have well over a century of practice in the Okanagan and surrounding areas. These professionals will directly mentor you as you grow and learn

Responsibilities:

As the Environmental Division Manager, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Assist with setting goals while nurturing the culture of the Environmental Division under the guidance of the Cabin Operations partners.
  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Environmental Division, which includes submitting proposals/bids, business development, project management, guiding project managers and site supervisors, client liaison, and setting and monitoring financial goals/budgets for the division.
  • Represent the company at public events, presentations, and meetings with peers.
  • Offer mentoring and training/professional development opportunities for the Environmental Team.
  • Define the vision for the Environmental division

What we are looking for:

  • A super solid, natural leader with and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Experience (3 year minimum) with one or more of: ecological construction, habitat enhancement, in-stream works, erosion control, remediation, or environmental consulting.
  • Experience with heavy machinery, carpentry, trail building, fuel treatments, tree planting, landscaping.
  • Experience developing, managing, and delivering large-scale, environmental management or ecological construction programs/projects using a phased approach.
  • Experience in project administration/management including allocation of resources, leading diverse teams, supervising staff, strategic business planning, procurement/bidding/proposals and development of financial strategies.
  • Experience working with Indigenous peoples.
  • Experience leading teams in dynamic environments with competing priorities to achieve goals/outcomes.
  • Understanding of Provincial and Federal environmental legislation and regulations
  • Willing to work in the field and travel in BC
  • Willing to assist on recreation and wildfire projects as needed.
