Position Overview:
Reporting directly to the BC Municipal Engineering Manager in either our Salmon Arm office, the successful Junior Civil Engineering Technologist will be involved in municipal engineering projects and will possess a strong background working with a motivated and dynamic team of professionals. Successful applicants will participate in the provision of engineering services from proposal stage through planning, design, construction and commissioning of projects.
Major Job Functions:
- Preparing engineering drawings using Civil 3D
- Coordinating project drawings and reports
- Surveying (total station and GPS)
- Site and construction inspections
- Project management and contract administration

- Excellent attention to detail, work accuracy/numeracy and quality orientated
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships across all
levels of the business - Motivated and dynamic self-starter
- Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
- Effective problem-solver with strong analytical skills
- A committed and positive attitude along with an obvious customer focus and the ability to build a positive rapport with customers
Education and Experience:
- Recent graduate with a Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent experience
- Previous experience in using Civil 3D is an asset
