Salary:

Atlas Building Systems (An AEP Company), located in Nanaimo, BC, provides professional design services, supplies engineered wood products, and manufactures roof and floor trusses to contractors, builders, and homeowners. We are currently looking for a full-time, permanent, Mechanic/Truck Driver to support our operations. Reporting to the Production Manager, our ideal candidate will be flexible, adaptable, detail-oriented and motivated, with a focus on providing a high degree of external and internal customer service as we grow our team and business!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy trucks and crane equipment safely for the transportation and handling of goods.
  • Conduct daily safety and maintenance inspections on vehicles and equipment.
  • Plan and navigate routes efficiently to ensure timely delivery of cargo.
  • Load and unload cargo, using cranes as necessary, with a focus on safety.
  • Adhere to all regulatory and company policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and operations teams.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service during pickup and delivery.
  • Participate in ongoing training to maintain and enhance skills and certification

Qualifications:

  • Valid Class 1 Driver's License with a clean driving abstract.
  • Crane Ticket required
  • Experience in driving large trucks and a solid understanding of road safety regulations.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks and lift heavy objects as required.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Effective communication skills.
