Your next Career: Mig Welder- Day Shift - 7:30am to 4:30 pm, Mon to Fri.

Working in the metal shop department the MIG welder joins pieces of metal together using an electric arc with inert compressed gases to complete the work order specifications in a timely and safe manner.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares work to be accomplished by studying customer work orders and specifications.
  • Stage materials at work-center for the day's production and maintains production throughput.
  • Read and comprehend instructions and follow established procedures.
  • Facilitate work-order paper flow in accordance with ISO quality standards.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly set-up and used in a safe manner and that all safety devices are in use.
  • Ensure the completed parts are loaded securely and safely to prevent falling over or damage when transporting to next workstation or operation.
  • Create quality welds according work order specifications.
  • Change wire, welding, as needed.
  • Change gas tanks, as needed.
  • Responsible for final inspection of welds for accuracy before sending to next operation.
  • Perform visual inspection to ensure raw and finished materials are defect and error free.
  • Correctly identifies and handles non-conforming product.
  • Daily cleaning of equipment and work area in accordance with company standards, rules to maintain a safe, tidy and clean work area.
  • Report on issues, malfunctions or defects to Lead Hand and Production Manager.
  • Reports any observed or potential hazards immediately.
  • Complies with all safety programs especially those related to welding safety.
  • Wear the proper PPE where required.
  • Helps with other functional areas/departments as the need arises or as assigned.
  • Follow Calstone Policies and Procedures.
  • Adherence to attendance policy (regular attendance)
  • Train co-workers as assigned.
  • All other duties as may be assigned

Qualifications

  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Previous Mig-Welding experience required.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical condition
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers, and Managers.
  • Ability to perform computer functions as they pertain to the job.
  • Ability to lift, up to 50lbs
  • Manual dexterity
