Sphere Recruitment Solutions is seeking an HSE Coordinator to join Canada's largest turnkey telecommunications company. This full-time permanent role is located in Regina, Saskatchewan, and involves a mix of office and field duties.

As an HSE Coordinator, you will be responsible for providing support in planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining their health and safety program. This will include day-to-day coordination of safety requirements for their construction division including training, orientations, incident tracking, investigations, recommendations of corrective actions, safety compliance, and involvement with HSE best practices and procedures.

Responsibilities,

  • supply direct health and safety support to the operational site level leadership, and health and safety committee representative
  • assist with the creation, facilitation, and coordination of training including annual training and third-party training
  • perform risk assessments and develop safe work procedures for corporate and regional purposes
  • provide guidance and support to operations to meet OHS and corporation expectations
  • lead the facilitation of serious investigations including recordable injuries, near misses, and critical incidents
  • support the HSE Team and regional operations in the development and implementation of Health and Safety priorities, guidance documents, key lessons learned, best practices, and policies
  • support regional operations in the implementation and maintenance of programs such as SiteDocs, Avetta, Cognibox, ComplyWorks, Contractor Compliance, CQ Network, and ISNetworld
  • develop and share regional communications with all stakeholders including key lessons, best practices, alerts, and KPIs
  • assist with annual COR audits

Equipment Responsibilities,

  • support the inspection process for equipment and fleet
  • day-to-day coordination of required servicing and repairs for the fleet, monitoring, and reporting on the compliance of annual certifications, and use of fleet management system to complete these
  • tracking equipment and vehicle inspections and identifying issues for maintenance or replacement
  • basic understanding of the mechanical workings of civil construction equipment and knowing the difference between a major or minor repair and schedule for the repairs accordingly

Requirements,

  • Post-secondary certification (degree, diploma, certificate) in Occupational Health & Safety preferred
  • 3 to 5 years of working experience (minimum) as a Health and Safety Professional in the civil construction industry specializing in directional drilling and aerial placement preferred
  • CRSP, CSO, or NCSO are assets
  • COR auditor certification is an asset
  • Preferred computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook
  • knowledge of relevant Provincial regulations across Canada
  • valid drivers license and the ability to travel to various sites in Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario
