Purpose

The Production Accountant will work closely within the Global Finance team and Clara Operations team to ensure the forecast accuracy for the growing Clara Stage business. They will ensure accurate reporting of the financial elements so Management can make key decisions to foster growth and profitability at PXO.

Responsibilities

  • Perform cost analysis of bids and projects using SAP and excel with Production
  • Create projects in SAP as needed following approval process
  • Prepare payroll and time log reconciliation, bi-weekly for review and distribute to producers
  • Month end labour accruals and reconciliation
  • Support in weekly project reporting
  • Month end revenue recognition and commentary with Group finance
  • Reconciliation of accrued/deferred income and revenue allocations
  • Prepare Labour and Revenue forecasts, bi-weekly basis
  • Prepare Studio P&L Report monthly to be reviewed with management for 3 reporting entities
  • Involved in year-end close and budgeting
  • Support in annual audits & maintain necessary documentation
  • Create client invoices and follow up with Producers on outstanding billings
  • Follow up with clients on past due invoices and ensure timely payment receipt
  • Monthly PO review with Production and Group Finance
  • Create POs in line with internal controls
  • Reconciliation of project reports to SAP while working with Production
  • Ad-hoc reporting, tasks and projects as required

Requirements

  • Business/accounting/financial degree or equivalent qualification
  • 1-2 years relevant work experience
  • Strong aptitude for business software applications and proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications.
  • VFX industry knowledge desirable but not essential
  • Excellent communicator, written and verbal.
  • SAP knowledge desirable but not essential
  • Natural inclination to problem solve and analyze financial information
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure with a strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines
  • Motivated by a challenge/problem and with an ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced ever-changing environment.
  • Ability to focus on completion of tasks in a timely manner to meet deadlines.
  • Inquisitive and proactive approach to work
