Job Description

The Sr. Private Sales Manager is responsible for driving private sales of Eataly outlets across all Toronto stores, including restaurants, the cooking school, retail & catering, and full venue buyouts. They seek out and develop relationships with clients to achieve the annual private sales budget.

  • Build and own relationships with key clients including third party agencies, event planners, corporate clients and private clients
  • Develop proposals for major clients that touch on the 360 offer of Eataly, including corporate gifting, and negotiating associated contracts
  • Work collaboratively with the back-of-house and front-of-house teams, as well as QSR, Retail and Marketing as needed, to plan menus and ensure smooth execution of events
  • Facilitate communication between the client and chefs, beverage managers, and restaurant team members as needed
  • Develop catering program including framework, offer and pricing, in conjunction with operations and corporate team
  • Onsite oversight of large events with support as needed for small-medium events
  • Negotiate contracts with preferred vendors for services not provided by Eataly (e.g. florists, A/V)
  • Attend relevant events such as a trade shows to promote Eataly as a venue destination
  • Manage a team of specialists that cover the major departments (restaurants, La Scuola cooking school, and store) and who are delegated to follow leads and execute events, depending on client needs
  • Leverage the various locations in order to maximize opportunities depending on client needs
  • Work with marketing & graphics on supporting materials such as booklets, signage and menus
  • Provide event recaps and operations, sales and production suggestions to the team
  • Weekly reporting on leads, forecasted sales and secured bookings
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in event planning and/or production or experience in restaurant private events
  • Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule often including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting
  • Availability to occasionally attend workshops, tradeshows and conventions
