The NSS is a nation-building effort to create a sustainable Canadian shipbuilding industry, secure long-term job opportunities and build the next generation of ships for the Canadian Coast Guard and Royal Canadian Navy. Through its NSS–related work, our client is leading the redevelopment of the domestic shipbuilding industry on the West Coast and delivering on the promise of ships built in Canada, by Canadians. The Sr. Analyst for Supply Chain Management (SCM) is responsible to oversee and manage a subset of the material categories supporting the construction of new vessels under the National Shipbuilding Strategy (NSS) at the company. Reporting to the team lead, the candidate will be working closely with procurement specialists, and demand planners. The candidate will be responsible for managing the definition, scope, inventory, and budget of the material categories assigned to the candidate. The main outputs will be Estimate To Complete (ETC) and Estimate At Complete (EAC).What you will be doing:
  • Full understanding of Definition and Scope
  • Define, implement, and continually validate Basis of Estimation
  • Understand and validate demand utilizing design, manufacturing, and inventory data
  • Understand and challenge additional demand outside of original scope
  • Understand and manage assigned budget and commitments
  • Analyze and optimize inventory on hand
  • Produce monthly reports on performance against budget and estimate at complete
  • Produce forecasts for budget spend and material consumption
What you must have:
  • 5+ years' experience as an analyst in inventory/ supply chain or related field
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Operations/ or Supply Chain Management, or related field
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Above average excel skills is a must
  • Must be comfortable managing large data sets
  • Solid understanding of financial concepts and terminology
  • Strong customer service and diplomacy skills
  • Demonstrated initiative, creativity, and integrity
  • Strong problem-solving skills, analytical abilities, and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize work and to problem solve in an inclusive manner with internal colleagues
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment but capable of working independently to meet strict deadlines
