THE ROLE

The Project Accounting Manager will occupy a pivotal role in the financial oversight of various projects, ensuring meticulousness, adherence to compliance standards, and operational efficiency in all accounting functions. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage all aspects of project accounting, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis.
  • Monitor project budgets, expenses, and cash flow to ensure projects are financially viable and meet financial objectives.
  • Conduct regular financial reviews and provide insights to project teams to support decision-making.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop financial strategies and optimize project profitability.
  • Implement and maintain effective cost control measures to monitor project expenses and minimize financial risks.
  • Review project contracts, change orders, and other financial documents to ensure accuracy and adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend strategies to improve project efficiency and profitability.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Coordinate with auditors and regulatory agencies during financial audits and reviews.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, accounting principles, and regulatory changes affecting project accounting practices.
  • Lead and mentor a team of project accountants, providing guidance and support to foster professional development and teamwork.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial objectives with project goals.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between finance and project teams to ensure transparency and accuracy in financial reporting.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project accounting or related roles within the real estate development or construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of project accounting principles, cost control techniques, and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Any experience with tools such as Power BI will be an asset.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, and a high level of integrity in handling confidential information.
