The Role

Versaterm is currently seeking a highly motivated Finance graduate to join the Corporate FP&A team. The Financial Analyst works alongside the CFO and the Director, FP&A of Versaterm with oversight over all aspects of the financial planning and analysis function for the company. The Financial Analyst will lead annual/quarterly budgeting and forecasting, timely monthly/quarterly reporting with operating plan variance analysis, and other ad hoc special projects.

Must Haves

Your job duties include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Build and maintain the corporate business model that details the entire Company's operations.
  • Lead the annual/quarterly/monthly budgeting processes and the rolling 12-month forecast.
  • Manage monthly management reporting processes and quarterly Board reporting.
  • Analyze financial data (future, current, and historical) to provide forecasting support.
  • Prepare projections and conduct modeling to simulate scenarios including acquisitions.
  • Conduct ad hoc financial analysis to support the company's senior leadership team as required.
  • Assist in Company's financial audits and work with our audit, accounting, and tax advisors on matters pertinent to the FP&A responsibilities.
  • Help with streamlining accounting/finance/operational processes, documentation of processes and customer contracts.
  • Assist with the implementation of systems and their tools (e.g., Sage Intacct, SalesForce, ADP Workforce etc., Vena Budgeting Tool) to provide critical financial and operational insights and to measure performance against the annual budget.
  • Work with CFO and the Director, FP&A to identify and analyze business activity decision impacts and opportunities based on results and scenario planning and communicate results to senior leadership team.

Requirements:

  • Honours Bachelor of Commerce Finance. Minimum A- in required Math, Accounting, Finance and Economics courses and B+ overall average.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills and experience using it on a day-to-day basis.
  • Adaptable: ability to work effectively in different situations and/or with different people.
  • Excellent written / verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and prioritize tasks as needed.
  • Proactive: always remaining curious and not afraid to ask questions.
  • Prior private sector CO-OP was considered an assets

Nice to Haves

  • Able to summarize data into visual dashboards using charts, graphs, trend analysis.
  • Prior Knowledge of Intacct or accounting systems
  • Strong technical skills, particularly with Excel, Visual basic, SQL, PowerBi or Tableau
