Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining common areas of the manufacturing plant and CGC Corporate office. Duties will vary based on plant and corporate office needs, but the following tasks are considered core responsibilities of the role:

  • Operate industrial sweeper cleaners and scrubbers to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse.
  • Sweep and mop hallways, floors, and stairs.
  • Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
  • Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as repairing, renovating, and painting.
  • Assist with set up and take down for customer events and meetings.
  • Assist with Project Home tasks throughout the plant and corporate office.
  • Empty trash cans and other waste containers.
  • Clean snow and ice from walkways.
  • Perform yard and lawn maintenance including but not limited to grass cutting, weed removal, lawn care, trimming and removing trees and shrubbery.
  • Install USG/CGC branded ceiling mock ups for customer visits, Plant and Corporate events, demonstrations and new product trials.
  • Perform and document routine inspection activities.
  • Notify leadership of any facility deficiencies and necessary repairs.
  • Follow all plant safety policies and procedures, and health regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in building/facilities maintenance is preferred.
  • Successful completion of certified skilled trade with the Ontario College of Trades; or a 2-year technical diploma related to building sciences or facilities management.
  • Able to work safely in a manufacturing environment and follow all plant safety rules and responsibilities.
  • Willing and able to perform custodial and other manual tasks throughout the plant and corporate office.
  • Good problem solving-abilities and flexibility.
  • Ability to work in a team setting and have strong customer service commitment.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-starter and able to complete a list of assigned tasks with minimal supervision and high quality.
  • Good time management skills and high standard of work.
  • Meet essential physical requirements of role.


Hours - Monday - Friday, 7am-3pm

Pay - $33.03/hr
