Dortmans Bros Barn Equip. is seeking two (2) full-time Dairy Service and Installation Technicians :

• One (1) to work out of our Salford location
• One (1) to work out of our Wellesley location.

What You Will Do

• As an in-barn Dairy Service and Installation Technician, you will install, align, dismantle, and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans using hand and power tools
• Test, inspect and examine machinery and equipment; adjust, repair, and replace defective parts as necessary
• Maintain machinery, service motors, gearboxes, PLC, frequency drives, hydraulics, pneumatics, scale repairs, feed systems
• Provide customer support and recommendations to dairy farmers; effectively manage and communicate any concerns, problems, or complaints.

What You Bring
The successful candidates:

• Must live near or relocate to either the Salford or Wellesley area.
• Are self-motivated and have the ability to adapt to new technologies in the dairy industry.
• Possess excellent customer relations and communication skills.
• Have the talent and ability to become one of our service and installation department experts.
• Are or will become familiar with all types of milking and dairy equipment.
• Possess a Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
• Are able to read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings
• Are available and willing to work on call hours (evenings/weekends)

Experience:

• Previous dairy equipment experience preferred.
• Farming or agriculture background is considered an asset.
• Experience or knowledge in electronics and mechanics is considered an asset.

Education:

• Post-secondary education in Electrical Education is preferred.
