Our Corporate Services team has an exciting new opportunity to join the Sodexo team as a casual Project Manager.

Job Description

How You'll Make an Impact:

Lead teams in the many facets of project management focusing on facility construction projects, major facility renovations, commercial kitchen/cafeteria re-modeling, etc. The individual will work closely with segment leaders, vendors/subcontractors, in-unit personnel and other functional teams to achieve measurable and sustainable results to business expansion and development activities.

Project Planning & Initiation:

• Define project scope, objectives and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
• Develop project plans, WBS, schedules and resource allocation.
• Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Obtain necessary approvals and support for project initiation

Project Execution:

• Manage day-to-day activities of projects, ensuring adherence to project plans and schedules.
• Monitor project progress, track milestones, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
• Coordinate and allocate resources, including personnel, equipment and materials to ensure efficient execution.
• Manage project budgets and expenses, ensuring cost control and adherence to financial guidelines.
• Resolve project issues, conflicts, and changes.
• Implement PM best practices and methodologies to improve project outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory standards.

Other Deliverables:

• Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, promoting effective communication and teamwork.
• Facilitate meetings, discussions, and reviews to drive project progress and resolve any challenges.
• Identify project risks and develop strategies to minimize their impact.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including project plans, schedules, reports and technical specs.
• Communicate project status, progress and results to stakeholders.

Qualifications

What you'll need to succeed

• Interest and willingness to work as a casual Project Manager
• A university degree/college degree/PMP is an asset
• 15+ years proven experience as a project manager in construction or similar role
• Knowledge in construction and engineering principles
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in PM software tools
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Understanding safety regulations and compliance standards in construction and engineering projects
• Ability to travel within the GTA, with occasional travel elsewhere in Canada
