MOSAIC is seeking enthusiastic, client-centered, and results-oriented individual to fill the role of an Employer Relations Specialist for Employment Programs to provide tailored Job development services to women and young adults clients. This individual must be flexible, creative, resourceful, and engaging.

POSITION FUNCTION:

As the Employer Relations Specialist, you will provide a wide range of services including employment counselling, action plan development, and job placement. The Employer Relations Specialist maintains a robust network of employers and relevant regulatory and professional associations and works with them to fill vacancies with qualified clients. The Employer Relations Specialist coaches and supports clients throughout their job search by maintaining an excellent working relationship.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide job leads for clients, resume creation/updating, job interview preparation, determine employment requirements, and assess client qualifications and suitability, ensuring quality job matching.
  • Provide one-to-one support for clients through job search coaching, motivation, mock interview, and other feedback to successfully attain employment
  • Develop and revise action plans for clients, collaborating with clients to agree on their objectives, job search activities, and tasks
  • Maintain an excellent working knowledge of local employment opportunities, community resources, the needs of job seekers and employers, and effective ways to bridge their respective needs via cold calling, attending networking events, and engaging with local boards of trade, etc.
  • Coordinate and facilitate employer engagement events, such as Employer Panel, job fairs, industry presentations, work site visits, Plant tours etc.
  • Develop and maintain ongoing relations with employers; engage in placement activities (e.g. cold calls, job leads, attend networking events, etc.)
  • Work collaboratively with program team and clients to understanding clients' needs and occupational goals and implement strategies to secure employment.
  • Support the Employment Services Advisor in providing job coaching and facilitation for clients as required
  • Regularly inform supervisor of participant progress and achievement of outcomes.
  • Maintain and provide statistics on participant progress in the prescribed format.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary degree, certificate or diploma in adult education, human resources management, counselling, psychology, social work, or a combination of coursework and experience
  • 2 or more years of demonstrated experience in:
    • Working with immigrant populations and people from diverse backgrounds.
    • job placement, Job coaching, counselling, or mentoring clients.
    • Providing excellent customer service and resolving issues both in person and in a virtual service delivery environment.
    • Building partnerships with employers, community agencies and other stakeholders.
  • Current and satisfactory Criminal Record Check required

DESIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent customer service and resolving issues both in person and in a virtual service delivery environment
  • Experience in marketing clients for employment, engaging local employers, and arranging and monitoring practicums.
  • Experience in Community development and employment programs
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Building partnerships with employers, community agencies and other stakeholders
  • Track record of achieving program targets and maintaining employer relationships
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, Teams, databases
  • Experience in Marketing or Sales roles are a definite asset.
  • Tactful, discreet, diplomatic, patient, flexible and possesses cultural sensitivity and excellent judgement in decision-making

BONUS SKILLS/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to speak a second language will be considered an asset
  • Career Development Practitioner certified will be considered an asset

HOURS: Full-time (35 hours per week)
There is a hybrid work from home option, but candidate must be able to commute to MOSAIC Highgate Office and Surrey Newton Office.

BENEFITS:

A competitive benefits package is provided with contracts of at least 1 year in length and which offer a minimum of 17.5 hours of work per week.
