Salary:

VEE Inc. is hiring for an experienced Electrical Designer for our client in Ancaster Ontario.

Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Ensure adherence to ISO 45001, ISO 14001, IATF 16949, ISO 9001, all Johnson Electric/Stackpole policies, and any other industry standards in all activities.
  • Design, develop, and provide guidance on all aspects of electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery.
  • Test, and troubleshooting Program Logic Control (PLC) and Human Machine Interfaces (HMI).
  • Assist in the installation, testing, and debugging of components during machine startups and commissioning.
  • Test and troubleshoot various controls, mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical systems, during Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and provide remote support to field service.
  • Perform Proof of Concept activities for complex technical issues.
  • Ability to travel to all Johnson Electric/Stackpole North American plants including Canada and USA to support projects.
  • Collaborate with project management and engineering team to design world-class automated assembly lines, incorporating equipment such as presses, CNC control upgrades, grinders, and robotic cells, etc.
  • Create and maintain documentation for new and existing equipment.
  • Coordinate continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Our requirements :

  • Post-secondary education – Completion of College or University in Electrical Engineering/Design, including Mechatronics, Industrial, and Electromechanical disciplines.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience as an Electrical Designer with EPLAN software in Canada.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of CSA, UL, and safety code/compliance of industrial robot systems.
  • Ability to create, read Electrical prints and thorough understanding of controls and design principles.
  • Expertise in System Control and PLC/HMI.
  • Experience in commissioning machines, including IO Checkout, Ethernet IP device setup, Machine Safety Setup, and testing, as well as troubleshooting issues.
  • Independent and self-motivated worker.
  • Hands-on experience is a plus (must be capable of safely swapping components).
  • Strong ability to use Microsoft Office Software.
  • Capability of editing and managing mechanical pneumatic drawings using SolidWorks is an asset.
  • Able to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, at all levels of the organization.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.
