We are seeking skilled Chicken Plant Workers to join our client. This position will be responsible for taking care of the manual deboning workstation and operate its specific functions such as manually deboning the chicken with tools such as the boning knife and filleting knife. Duties also involve separating the bones and chicken in separate bins.

Responsibilities:

  • Bring the “In Process” chicken quantities in, following FIFO (First In First Out)
  • Deboning the chicken bones manually by using a knife and leaving a “meat only” product
  • Matching each different item (Supplier, Date of Slaughter etc.) to the label referred to.
  • Check and inspect the output boneless chicken from the deboning machine by ensuring that it is free from bones, skin or any foreign materials.
  • Maintain Food Quality, GMP's, heath and safety regulations
  • Maintain activity log(s) and fill it with proper data.
  • Perform appropriate closing duties such as clearing the line from all remaining chicken qty, bins and skids.
  • Ad-hoc tasks related to production.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School (Grade 12) Diploma.
  • Work in raw meat processing industry is an asset.
  • GMP and/or Food Handling training is an asset.
  • Knowledge of HACCP's principles preferred.
  • Ability to use a knife safely and effectively when deboning the chicken
  • Ability to recognize and understand poultry parts (Chicken Legs (left or right)
  • Intermediate skill required for Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and complete daily activities
  • Ability to carry 50Ibs. and work in cold condition.
  • "Can do" attitude with a willingness to learn.
  • Outstanding attention to detail with the ability to recognize chicken bones
  • Ability to use tools (knifes) in a safe manner
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and decision-making skills
