About the Role

Eavor Technologies Inc. is seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the position of Senior Financial Accountant. Working with a multidisciplinary international team whose head office is located in Calgary, Alberta, you will provide collaborative support within the Finance department, and assist in the construction of the world's first closed-loop geothermal system.

Role Summary

The successful Senior Financial Accountant will provide collaborative support to the Finance team, ensuring the timely completion of reporting deadlines, preparation of audited financial statements in compliance with IFRS, and assistance in enhancing processes and internal controls within the finance department.

This hybrid role is based in Calgary, Alberta, requiring local and international travel based on business needs.

Some of What you Will Do:

  • Work as a part of a team to meet monthly, quarterly and annual reporting deadlines
  • Prepare notes within the quarterly and annual audited financial statements in compliance with IFRS
  • Own working papers, customize system reports, create journal entries and perform account analysis for key financial statement line items
  • Prepare or review journal entries for proper coding, including review of GST and VAT
  • Assist with IFRS-based transaction analysis and contract reviews
  • Prepare financial metric inputs for sustainability reporting
  • Assist business units to comply with grant reporting requirements
  • Assist with and contribute to improving processes and internal controls over financial reporting and across the finance department
  • Lead or participate in special projects as needed within the department, the broader finance environment or cross-functionally

Some of What you Will Need:

  • 5+ years of work experience in a professional environment
  • 2+ years of accounting or reporting experience at a publicly traded company
  • CPA accounting designation
  • Bachelor's degree, diploma, or equivalent technical training
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Growth-mindset and curious to probe, discover, and solve problems
  • Keen interest in accounting systems, new technology, and process improvements
  • Strong ability to manage and prioritize projects and tasks effectively
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to develop a plan and implement it accordingly
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, as well as analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without restrictions
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
