Manitoulin Golf is a 9-hole golf course with a driving range and restaurant located just outside of Gore Bay. It was established in 1980 and is open to the public from May-Oct each year.
Job DescriptionBeginning in Early May and ending in Late August, you will normally be starting each day at 6:00 a.m. and finishing at 2:30 p.m. You will be working with the other grounds crew members outside on the golf course, on the driving range, or inside the shop assisting the course mechanic. Tasks include; cutting and trimming of turf, raking of bunkers and of gravel paths, weeding/cultivation of gardens, garbage and recycling pickup, collection of driving range balls, washing/fueling of golf carts, routine maintenance of equipment under the supervision of the course mechanic, and other jobs as assigned.
QualificationsYou should be physically fit, able to work outdoors for long periods of time in various weather conditions, be mechanically inclined and able to operate various pieces of motorized equipment with proper training. You should also possess a strong work ethic and attention to detail that enables you to work independently throughout periods of the day. An easy going temperament and collaborative personality will allow you to work well as part of the grounds maintenance crew. You must be a post-secondary student in either college or university and you should have a G drivers license.
