We are looking for a Banquet Sous Chef for our Silvertip Resort located in Canmore, Alberta. A successful candidate must work according to the company values: caring, integrity, excellence, team spirit, financial responsibility, and safety.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the Executive Chef
  • Responsible for executing culinary activities for banquets (Weddings, Meetings etc.)
  • Collaborate with Executive Chef on menu design
  • Oversee the preparation and production of food items for all banquets
  • Work closely with Sales, Event and Banquet Operations team to understand all group requirements and expectations.
  • Enforce all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage.
  • Ensuring proper staffing and scheduling in accordance with productivity guidelines.
  • Assist in recruiting, training and supervising culinary employees.
  • Assist with inventory and purchasing management.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years as a team leader in the culinary field is required.
  • Banquet operations experience is mandatory.
  • Journeyman's papers or international equivalent required.
  • Should be eligible to work in Canada full-time.
  • Diploma/Certification in a Culinary discipline an asset.
  • Proven track record of cost control including food, equipment, labour and wastage to meet the goals.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities. Highly responsible & reliable.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
