Scope:

Assist the Head Chef / F&B Manager in the daily operation of the food service department. Be instrumental in meeting all Best Western Franchise, B.C. Interior Health, Management team standards & policies. Promote a sound, healthy & safe working environment; and most importantly outstanding guest experience.

May be required at times to perform tasks that may not fall under general food service operations.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assure quality, professional, friendly guest experience in the Mountain Morning Café & Catering.
  • Coaching & assisting Café staff in daily duties & responsibilities.
  • Monitoring Food Quality & handling of all food & beverage products.
  • Meet café product expectations of Best Western Hotels & Management team.
  • Meet all B.C. Interior Health policies & food safe handling procedures.

Overall cleanliness, organization & safety of Café operation.

  • Front-of-house table presentation.
  • Buffet Line.
  • Hot cooking line.
  • Prep & ware wash areas.
  • Food & Beverage storage areas.
  • Expediting & participating in the execution of daily & weekly task lists.
  • Staff appearance & personal hygiene.

Participate in all inventory counts, cost controls & records.

  • Food – Including being involved in the ordering process, daily wastage & guest counts.
  • Café Beverages
  • Non-food items (paper & cleaning supplies)
  • Labor Ratio Monitoring
