Chief Academic Officer Duties (60%):

Management/Leadership duties

  • Taking charge of the Masters program in terms of, Academic Excellence, Policy Implementation, Admissions, Student Progression, Graduation and Transcripts.
  • Identifying and making recommendations to the CEO/COO/ Head of Training (HoT) for Instructor training or staffing gaps.
  • Consulting and making recommendations based on the Masters Policy initially to HoT, Chief Theoretical Knowledge Instructor (CTKI)and then to faculty on academics and training.
  • Final decisions on the implementation of the Chief Administrative Officer's (CAO) recommendations lie with the Accountable Manage (AM) or HoT.

Other Management/Leadership duties

  • Taking charge of ITPS Short Courses including management, participation in instruction and development as required in cooperation with HoT or other instructors.
  • Taking charge of ITPS Online Courses including management and development as required.
  • Completing the Private Career College application and taking charge of the ITPS Private Career College after approval.

Flight Test Instructor duties (40%):

  • Taking ownership of and actively managing, coordinating and generally ensuring the successful execution of courses and flying programs.
  • Ensuring compliance, student welfare and satisfaction for courses assigned by the Head of Training or CFI.
  • Ensuring that students are correctly briefed and prepared for flying exercises.
  • Ensuring that Risk Assessments are completed.
  • Authorizing flights within his or her powers of authorization.
  • Ensuring that the students receive proper flight exercise demonstrations, and that students can practice flight test techniques and data-gathering techniques.
  • Ensuring that course flights are properly debriefed and that a Sortie Report Assessment is generated to monitor student progress.
  • Ensuring that students prepare and submit reports for exercises managed by the FTI as required by the syllabus and acting as first marker of such reports. The FTI shall monitor the progress of individual students and brief this on a regular basis to the appropriate CFI and Head of Training.
  • In the case of concerns about student progress, reporting to the CFI or Head of Training as soon as possible.
  • Any other special projects that you are qualified to perform as requested by your manager which may require you to travel abroad.
  • Performing other related activities, as necessary or as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:

  • A master's degree in the field of flight testing or a related discipline (STEM)
  • Graduation from an approved school of flight test or Military Equivalent.
  • EASA pilot license at ATPL or CPL/IR level with FT Rating Category 1 and FTI Rating or equivalent ICAO license and Test Pilot qualifications to qualify as FTI.
  • A minimum of 3 years' post-qualification and 200 hours experience as a test pilot.
  • Previous experience as FI, TRI, or FTI is an asset.
  • An FTI who holds a Transport Canada or validated ICAO license AND a recognized TP qualification AND has undergone ITPS standardization may give instruction in flight test techniques to ITPS Students who are not seeking an EASA TP rating; in this case FCL.900 approval is not required.
  • Willing to travel up 20% of the time.
