Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia is currently searching for a Compliance Auditor to join our team on Vancouver Island!

The Compliance Auditor's primary responsibility is to plan, schedule, and execute compliance audits. This will be done both individually and as part of a compliance audit team (when auditing large firms). The Compliance Auditor will also work on continuous improvement of policies and procedures related to the compliance audit program, and will support registrants, both individuals and firms, by answering questions and providing guidance related to the regulatory requirements of the Compliance Audit Program.

We are looking for auditors who have strong communication skills, flourish in a people-facing role, and enjoy working as part of a strong team. The successful candidate would help guide and support the professional practice of engineering and geoscience in the province.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Assist in the planning, delivery, and maintenance of the Registrant Firm Compliance Audit Program, and the Individual Registrant Compliance Audit Program.

  • Plan and conduct registrant firm compliance audits as assigned by the Manager, and individual registrant compliance audits as needed. May be called upon to lead team audits of large firms when required.

  • Act as an engineering/geoscience subject matter expert in relation to Engineers and Geoscientists BC's regulations and figure of authority when interacting with registrant firms.

  • Represent Engineers and Geoscientists BC and the organization's standards and guidelines in a professional and knowledgeable manner.

  • Prepare and submit compliance audit reports.

  • Process and follow up on corrective actions identified during compliance audits.

  • Develop strong working relationships with firm contacts, Responsible Registrants, and Responsible Officers and leverage these relationships to improve firm engagement and compliance.

  • Contribute to the improvement of the Registrant Firm and Individual Registrant Compliance Audit Programs by obtaining feedback from auditees and identifying areas for refinement.

  • Contribute to the identification and implementation of continual improvement of Engineers and Geoscientists BC policies and procedures related to Registrants.

  • Deliver presentations on the audit program, as required.

  • Other duties as assigned by management.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

The successful applicant will possess the following:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Geoscience is required.

  • Required to be a registered professional with, or eligible to be registered with, Engineers and Geoscientists BC (P.Eng., Eng.L., P.Geo., or Geo.L.).

  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor, or similar certification, is preferred.

  • 10+ years working with engineering/geoscience professionals in a firm where the practice of professional engineering/geoscience is the core aspect of their operations.

  • 5+ years experience writing and submitting formal technical reports.

  • 2+ years auditing experience.

  • Technical analysis and writing skills.

  • Experience working within a team.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

  • Experience conducting quality management, 3rd party vendor, or similar audits.

This role offers a competitive compensation and benefits program including a salary within our hiring range of $92,000 to $103,000.
