About the role:

OLIVER is hiring a Senior Copywriter to join our growing team. As a Senior Copywriter, you will take creative projects from brief to completion and work as a part of our dedicated agency team. You will work in partnership with Associate Creative Directors, Art Directors, Designers, Project Managers, Account leadership and clients. This role is currently remote with opportunity to occasionally work from our client office.
In this role, you will own projects and execute them efficiently and effectively to deliver quality, accuracy and consistency while ensuring that all content follows brand guidelines and channel-specific best practices and requirements. You should have a passion for digital content and know how to incorporate the latest trends and consumer behaviour into their work to ensure high-performing content for well-known brands. You will work as part of a team producing social media content, banner ads, videos, emails, websites, eCommerce content and more.

What you will be doing:
  • Deliver briefs from brainstorm/concept to completion, work collaboratively across teams on ideation, creation and execution
  • Produce engaging and innovative work for our client's digital, social, video, email, web and eCom channels
  • Copywriting unique to commerce listings, enhanced brand content and product descriptions
  • Write concise, compelling and benefit-driven product copy
  • Maintain high standards of copywriting and exercise quality control on all copy
  • Create effective and on-brand campaign taglines and brand-positioning statements
  • Use effective keywords to assume sales and result via eCommerce
  • Write creative and innovative content that brings readership and encourages sharing
  • Write for a wide variety of digital executions, including short and long form content
  • Adapt and optimize existing content for use across various channels
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging social, content and cultural trends
  • Define or adapt brand language and tone while adhering to brand guidelines and complying with all legal, medical and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee and manage the preparation of all finished files, complying with the correct output specifications
  • Follow projects throughout all stages of production and online deployment
What you need to be great in this role:
  • 5+ years of experience writing for digital
  • Degree in related field (or equivalent)
  • Proven agency or relevant experience (CPG experience desirable but not required)
  • Ability to think conceptually when needed
  • Experience working as part of a traditional creative team (designer and copywriter) or in collaboration with other creative team members
  • Demonstrated ability to combine and translate complex material from different sources and contexts into stories and content that engage and resonate with target audiences
  • Confident presenting and communicating clearly to other team members and clients
  • Excellent written English, including spelling, punctuation, and grammar (Canada and US spelling depending on region of brand)
  • A self-starter with a high level of personal motivation and enthusiasm to learn more
  • Highly creative and imaginative, and able to translate client's marketing and sales objectives into creative ideas and copy
  • Awareness of trends in digital and social media and communication
  • Ability to effectively integrate design feedback/critique into work
  • Experience and comfort working directly with clients as needed
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proactive and independent, able to effectively time-manage projects
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to problem-solve
  • Strong organizational and proofreading skills
  • Natural, respectful collaborator across all departments and functions
