Senior Geotechnical Engineer

$140-180/annual + up to 15% bonus + up to 5.5% RRSP + benefits

As the Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you'll be integral to the site's success, deeply involved in the operation, planning, and maintenance of Tailing Management Facilities (TMF) and Waste Rock Storage Facilities (WRSF). Your role extends to participating in the development of ground control plans, placing you at the forefront of mining innovation.

Responsibilities:

Ensure compliance with company safety policies and governmental regulations.

Establish and maintain a collaborative relationship with the Engineer of Record (EoR) for design-aligned construction and operation.

Organize and participate in bi-annual independent review board meetings.

Manage project scopes, ensuring consultants deliver on time and within budget.

Efficiently use surface geotechnical instrumentation and systems, implementing best practices in geotechnical engineering and mine design.

Prepare and maintain surface geotechnical reports, contribute to the Ground Control Management Plan, and oversee manuals for TMF & WRSF.

Develop strategies for tailings and waste rock management and participate in budgeting and cost control.

Requirements:

A degree in Geotechnical or Civil Engineering (master's preferred) or equivalent experience.

10 years of relevant engineering experience, preferably in the mining industry.

Experience in the design, construction, and operation of mining infrastructure like dams/dikes or Waste Rock Storage Facilities. Prior experience in a mining is preferred.
