Labourer

Construx Building Products is looking for a Shop Labourer to join our team.

Summary

Reporting to the Shop Supervisor, the Shop Labourer is responsible for performing general duties in the shop and yard. The individual will take direction well and be able to perform physically demanding work.

Hours

12 hour shifts on Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Job Duties

  • General labour work at our shop location in Saskatoon
  • Load and unload materials
  • Prefabrication of wall and flooring systems
  • Operate and maintain tools and equipment
  • Work with team in the shop to complete projects within established timeframes
  • Ensure shop safety is maintained and safety documentation is completed
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and safety requirements
  • Maintain open and clear communication with your supervisor to establish goals, timelines, and expectations
  • Help maintain cleanliness and safety of the shop and yard areas
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction

Requirements

  • High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent (an asset but not required)
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in construction or carpentry work
  • Valid driver's licence and vehicle to get to work

Work Conditions

  • Use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
  • Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust
  • Must be able to lift (up to 50 pounds), push, pull or carry heavy objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue
  • May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles
  • May be exposed to intermittent loud noise
  • Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination
  • Excellent stamina is required
  • Hazards associated with the construction industry
