ROLE SUMMARY
Journeyman Electricians will be responsible for leading or assisting with construction projects for large commercial & industrial (C&I) and utility sectors (running conduit, pulling cable, coordinating subs, installation of TX, PCS and SWGRs) battery testing and installation. This position is expected to travel up to 100%.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES
Work as part of the construction team in the building of energy storage design-build projects
Familiar with design and operation of power systems ranging from 208V to 35kV distribution and transmission systems
Knowledge, interpretation, and application of National Electrical Code 2021, Canadian electrical code 2021: CSA C22.1:21 and CSA Z462 / NFPA 70 E and applicable energy codes.
Knowledge of single-line drawings, elementary and wiring diagrams, equipment specifications (including transformers, MCC, switchgear, substation equipment); power plans, conduit plans, cable schedules, system studies and protective relay settings.
Ability to interpret client specifications, redline construction packages
Identify issues and problems, develop appropriate solutions, and ask for assistance when required
Must be able to attend commercial and industrial sites and observe all applicable safety regulations
Able to work under and meet tight deadlines
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Licensed Electrician 309A, 442A or equivalent RED SEAL Designation
Any equipment operator certs a big plus
Required years of experience; 4+ years with a focus on construction.
Electrical experience: 2 years journeymen (required)
Underground conduit installation
Excavator experience a big plus
Excavator certification a plus
Site lead experience is an asset
