Technical Project Manager - Engineering

What will you be doing?
As the Technical Project Manager, you will be responsible for product development programs both internal and those deliverable to MMIST's customers. You will be involved in plan/schedule development, risk mitigation, scope management, project costs, roadmaps, resources allocation and project deliverables. You will coordinate across functional development teams to plan, direct, and manage the delivery of complex projects.
- Manage multiple projects and successfully deliver to contractual requirements or internal project goals
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans including scope, schedule, critical paths and resource allocations
- Work with subject matter experts, senior management, and engineering to execute the project plan and has primary execution responsibilities to ensure project remains within budget, on schedule and meets contractual requirements.
- Generates project management bids for development projects. Creates the WBS and coordinates bid inputs for the entire engineering bid team. Supports schedule and cost estimations from engineering and provides backup data.
- You will act as the customer's technical point of contact on program development.
- Develop, track, report and analyze earned value metrics as required to understand project performance.
- Recommends staffing and/or schedule adjustments based on metrics.
- Lead/support proposal efforts, coordinating inputs from various project engineers.
- Understands relationship of their projects to other development projects, defining strategic plan to leverage the investments across the company.
- Work with the MMIST engineering teams to cite process improvements and enhance existing documentation.
- Support the product managers in interfacing with engineering teams to drive actions to conclusion.
- Supports the finance team with project reporting and analysis.
- Works with the quality team to drive all audit actions and opportunities for improvement.
- Interacts with subcontracts on outsource manufacturing selection related items as required.
- Lead integration related activities pertaining to gap assessment and reporting.
What do we need from you?
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Aerospace, Engineering etc), Military Experience, or equivalent;
- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP, Prince2 etc)
- Experience with ISO 9001:2000 and/or AS9100
- Ability to drive projects forward despite ambiguity
- Willing to travel 10-15%.
