About The Role:
We are currently seeking an occasional Registered Veterinary Technician for overnight shifts Monday to Thursday, 7pm-7am, to assist in the care of our hospitalized patients. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the health and comfort of our patients during the critical overnight hours.
Responsibilities:
- Provide compassionate care and support to hospitalized patients throughout the overnight shift.
- Monitor and assess patient vital signs, behaviors, and conditions.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the attending veterinarian.
- Assist with emergency procedures and interventions as necessary.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with the daytime veterinary team regarding patient status and overnight developments.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the hospital facilities.
Qualifications:
- Must be a licensed or registered veterinary technician with relevant experience in emergency and critical care.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work overnight shifts on weekdays.
