This position is full-time, on rotating 12-hour shifts. Overtime is available as required.

What you'll do as an Electrician:

We are looking for a self-motivated individual with previous experience within a manufacturing environment. This candidate must be able to:

  • Install and repair electrical equipment and wiring
  • Observe all safety rules and maintain an orderly workplace. Work from blueprints, wiring diagrams, shop orders and oral instructions
  • Plans with supervision proposed electrical work, planned shut downs
  • Maintains inventory of electrical supplies, equipment and requisitions, as necessary.
  • Installs, dismantles, examines, repairs, reconditions and re-installs electrical supplies and equipment such as motors, switch gear, transformers, communication systems, instrumentation, motor generator sets, inverters, electrical furnace systems etc.
  • Performs a testing routine on a scheduled basis. Perform PM's on required equipment and scheduled work as required.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices
  • Examines and repairs high-voltage electrical equipment when required for continuous plant operation
  • Makes minor adjustments to and lubricates tools and equipment used
  • Assist millwright to perform minor mechanical repairs
  • Conduct preventative maintenance programs and keep maintenance records
  • Perform 5s related tasks

About you, simply stated:

  • Certified Journeyman with a valid 442A License
  • 5+ years of electrical experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting
  • Excellent Working knowledge of the Ontario and Canadian Electrical Code
  • Experience with PLC/ladder logic/VFD and troubleshooting
  • Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new or existing installations
  • Physically able to lift heavy objects as necessary
  • Comfortable reading and understanding electrical blueprints, schematics, and diagrams
