Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer Job ID: DV20059675Location: Brampton, ONOverview:Our client is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to be involved in developing new products related to power conversion, power quality and energy storage, specifically batteries and battery management systems, Inverters, and grid connection. This includes facilitating CAD schematics, BOMs, manufacturing support, and contributing to the commercialization of new products. What you will be doing:
  • System design of energy storage systems, power conversion systems, power distribution, including appropriate analysis and selection of products and components.
  • Electrical design of power distribution systems and subsystems, with associated controls
  • Design single line diagrams, schematics, wiring tables, layouts using Solidworks.
  • Prepare technical documentation including manuals, reports, etc.
  • Perform EVT, DVT, and certification testing of high voltage, high power equipment (1000VDC, 600VAC, 500kVa and above)
  • Provide support on manufacturing and production activities including preparation of manufacturing data packages and Bills of Materials (BOMs) using corporate ERP. Supervise some aspects of prototypes in production.
  • Product support activities including test procedures and customer support.
  • Coordinate UL/CSA/CE and FCC certification activities
  • Adherence to all company policies, including health and safety policies
What you must have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • P.Eng designation or eligibility is an asset
  • Approximately 10 years of hands-on design, test, and deployment experience in real-world electrical systems (e.g. UPS systems, energy storage systems, static transfer switches, inverters, etc.)
  • Knowledge of industrial instrumentation, automation and associated protocols.
  • Familiarity with Solidworks Electrical is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Labview and National Instrument hardware is an asset
  • Excellent computer literacy. Proficient with MS Office and GSuite tools is a must.
  • Strong English language verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong technical writing skills; able to clearly convey concepts in writing and prepare concise technical documentation/manuals for various power systems products, including energy storage systems, static transfer switches etc.
  • Ability to develop test plans, execute the tests, prepare and present test reports
