HME Home Health Ltd. (www.hmebc.com) is a leading industry supplier of hospital and home care medical equipment alongside assistive devices such as wheelchairs, power chairs, and other mobility aids. We are seeking a talented and experienced Class H Mechanic to join our team. HME Home Health is a fast-growing company with 120+ full-time staff in offices located in Richmond, South Surrey, Victoria, Nanaimo, Kelowna, and North Vancouver.
Job Overview:
This position is responsible for installation. Maintenance and repair of Commercial Elevating devices, such as stairlifts and platform lifts. Duties will include:
- liaising with Sales team members to provide pre-installation support and recommendations for installation, layout and design.
- Reviewing documents and blueprints to ensure accuracy.
- Complete site inspections to ensure all pre-installation requirements are met.
- Professional installation and testing of new installs.
- Liaising with Inspectors to ensure permitting is completed
- Sign-off on all installations, maintenance and repairs.
- Complete service calls for maintenance and/or repairs.
- Troubleshoot all mechanical and electrical system failures.
- Ensure compliance with all Safety, Licencing and Permitting requirements
- Complete and maintain all required documentation and reporting for Technical Safety BC
- Supervise and train apprentices
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Valid H Class Certification by Technical Safety B.C.
- 2+ years experience as a licensed Mechanic
- Valid B.C. Driver's License
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability and willingness to handle technical and task-oriented activities.
- Interacts respectfully and cooperatively.
- Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion.
- The ability to work independently and in a team environment
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Travel Requirements:
This position requires travel throughout our 7 locations in B.C. A company vehicle and gas card are provided.
