Position Summary

We are seeking a Technical Designer with a minimum of 3-5 years' experience to join our Production Team. The position requires extensive knowledge of apparel construction and fit. The Technical Designer position is to help us take our designs from concept to a manufactured product. Primary duties include developing initial costing specs, reviewing the fit through the product life cycle, ensuring that the finished product meets the quality standards of the customer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Work with the Manager of Production and Production, Sourcing and Sales teams to create detailed technical specification packages for overseas suppliers for both costing and production purposes.
• Collaborate with vendors overseas to ensure that customer requirements and timelines are met and that all issues or problems are resolved prior to production.
• Create and maintain production tech packs which include technical sketches, fit spec information and fit/ PP fit comments.
• Measure and prepare incoming samples, assessing samples for construction and fit corrections.
• Coordinate and conduct fittings to review fits and pre- production submissions in conjunction with PD/Production team members.
• Handle daily communication with overseas vendors for assigned product categories.
• Track status of fit submissions.
• Create and maintain block specs.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fashion or Fit Technician. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Technical Design.
• Knowledge of pattern-making, garment grading and specs. Strong knowledge in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photo Shop, Microsoft Excel, etc.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Must be able to identify fit issues and find solutions. Self-starter with the ability to organize and effectively prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
• Ability to adapt to priorities as required. Able to work as a team and independently.

• Is accountable for results, approaches obstacles proactively and looks for ways to resolve problems and issues.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
