Management

Our client is an established and highly respected North American supplier of engineered industrial components and aftermarket repair solutions. Supporting customers across Canada's industrial marketplace, the organization has built its reputation on technical expertise, extensive product availability, responsive service, and long-standing customer relationships.
With a comprehensive portfolio of hydraulic and pneumatic sealing solutions, replacement components, repair kits, and specialized products, the company helps keep essential equipment running across industries including construction, mining, forestry, agriculture, manufacturing, material handling, and industrial maintenance.
Backed by a larger international organization, our client combines the strength and stability of an established industry leader with the customer-focused approach of a specialized technical distributor. We are seeking an experienced Regional Sales Manager based in Calgary or Edmonton to lead sales development and account management across an established Western Canadian territory.
This opportunity is ideal for a commercially driven sales professional who enjoys building relationships, developing new business, and delivering practical solutions to customers in technically demanding environments.
The Regional Sales Manager will strengthen existing customer relationships, expand market penetration, and identify new business opportunities across the assigned territory. Working closely with customers in industrial distribution, hydraulic repair, equipment maintenance, and related markets, the successful candidate will position the organization as a preferred supplier through technical product knowledge, exceptional service, and a consultative approach to selling. This hands-on, customer-facing sales position requires regular territory travel, strategic account development, and collaboration with internal sales, technical, and operational teams. The successful candidate will own territory performance and be accountable for revenue growth, customer retention, profitability, and new account development.
Responsibilities
Territory Management & Business Development
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive territory sales strategy focused on revenue growth, profitability, and market expansion.
  • Manage and strengthen relationships with existing customers while identifying opportunities to increase account penetration and product adoption.
  • Prospect and develop new business relationships with industrial distributors, hydraulic service and repair companies, equipment maintenance organizations, and other relevant customers.
  • Conduct regular customer visits to understand operational requirements, identify opportunities, and present appropriate product and service solutions.
  • Establish relationships with key decision-makers, including business owners, branch managers, purchasing professionals, maintenance leaders, and technical personnel.
  • Identify opportunities to expand product offerings within existing accounts and develop long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships.
Technical Sales & Customer Solutions
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic sealing products, cylinder repair components, aftermarket replacement parts, and related industrial applications.
  • Understand customer challenges involving equipment reliability, maintenance requirements, replacement components, and operational downtime.
  • Recommend appropriate products and value-added services in collaboration with internal technical specialists.
  • Position the organization as a knowledgeable, dependable technical resource rather than a transactional supplier.
  • Respond professionally and efficiently to customer inquiries, product requirements, and service concerns.
Sales Performance & Market Development
  • Establish and manage a qualified sales pipeline, identifying opportunities to grow market share throughout the territory.
  • Monitor territory performance against revenue, margin, and customer development objectives.
  • Develop sales forecasts, territory business plans, and account growth strategies.
  • Analyze competitive activity, market trends, and customer purchasing patterns to identify expansion opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, customer activity reports, and sales forecasts.
  • Represent the organization at relevant industry events, trade shows, customer meetings, and technical presentations.
Internal Collaboration
  • Work closely with inside sales, customer service, purchasing, technical support, and operations teams to ensure a consistent customer experience.
  • Coordinate product availability, quotations, order requirements, and customer support activities.
  • Provide market intelligence and customer feedback to support product development, inventory planning, and commercial initiatives.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, solutions-oriented sales culture focused on customer satisfaction and sustainable business growth.
Qualifications
Required Experience & Capabilities
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in outside sales, territory management, key account management, branch management, or a related commercial role within industrial distribution or manufacturing.
  • Proven success building customer relationships, expanding territories, and consistently meeting sales objectives.
  • Strong understanding of industrial distribution channels, technical products, and business-to-business sales processes.
  • Experience managing a geographic territory involving regular customer visits and business development activities.
  • Ability to identify customer needs, develop commercial opportunities, and communicate the value of technical products and services.
  • Strong organizational, territory-planning, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
  • Proficiency with CRM platforms, Microsoft Office, and standard sales reporting tools.
  • Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time, including overnight travel.
Highly Desirable Experience
  • Previous experience in the fluid power, hydraulics, pneumatics, or industrial sealing industries.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic cylinders, seals, repair kits, replacement components, or related aftermarket products.
  • Established relationships with hydraulic repair facilities, industrial distributors, equipment service providers, or maintenance organizations.
  • Experience selling products used in heavy equipment, mobile hydraulics, industrial machinery, or maintenance and repair applications.
  • Exposure to technical sales environments where product knowledge, availability, and responsive service are key competitive differentiators.
A post-secondary education in Business, Marketing, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline is preferred. We will also consider an equivalent combination of education, technical knowledge, and relevant industry experience.
Why Our Client?
  • Established Industry Presence: Represent a respected supplier with a long-standing reputation in the industrial aftermarket and fluid power sectors.
  • Strong Product Portfolio: Access a broad selection of technical products and replacement solutions supporting customers across multiple industrial markets.
  • Existing Customer Relationships: Build on an established customer base while pursuing meaningful opportunities to expand the territory.
  • Technical & Operational Support: Collaborate with knowledgeable internal teams that support product selection, customer service, and order fulfillment.
  • Autonomy & Ownership: Take responsibility for developing your territory, building customer relationships, and executing a successful regional sales strategy.
  • Career Stability: Join an established organization operating within a larger international business group.
If you are an experienced industrial sales professional with a background in technical distribution, fluid power, hydraulic systems, or related aftermarket products, we welcome the opportunity to discuss this position with you.
