A growing general practice law firm in Edmonton is seeking a Civil Litigation Lawyer to join its team. The firm handles a range of legal matters and is looking for a motivated professional who can independently manage litigation files while contributing to a collaborative legal team.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage civil litigation matters from initial assessment through resolution or trial.
Conduct legal research and prepare pleadings, motions, affidavits, briefs, and other court documents.
Represent clients in court appearances, applications, hearings, and other litigation proceedings.
Develop litigation strategies and advise clients on their legal rights, risks, and available options.
Handle negotiations, settlement discussions, and alternative dispute resolution where appropriate.
Manage case files, deadlines, and court procedures effectively.
Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and other relevant parties throughout the litigation process.
Collaborate with colleagues while independently managing assigned matters.
Minimum of 3 years of experience actively practicing civil litigation.
Must be eligible to practice law in Alberta.
Strong knowledge of Alberta civil litigation procedures and applicable legislation.
Excellent legal research, drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple matters independently and meet deadlines.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working effectively in a team environment.
