After school Math and English Teacher

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated, patient, and enthusiastic After-School Math and English Teacher to support students in developing strong academic skills and confidence. The successful candidate will provide individualized and small-group instruction in mathematics and English, helping students improve their understanding, complete work, and achieve their learning goals.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, has strong communication skills, and is passionate about education.

Responsibilities

• Teach math and English to elementary and/or middle school students.
• Provide individualized support and small-group instruction.
• Help students with homework, assignments, and test preparation.
• Develop engaging lessons based on students' learning needs and abilities.
• Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and supportive learning environment.
• Communicate professionally with parents and team members as needed.
• Support students in building confidence, independence, and effective study habits.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of mathematics and English.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working with children in a tutoring, teaching, or educational setting is an asset.
• Ability to explain concepts clearly and adapt teaching methods to different learning styles.
• Patient, reliable, organized, and enthusiastic.
• Ability to work weekday afternoons and early evenings.
• A background in education, tutoring, or a related field is preferred.

Schedule

• Part-time position.
• Tuesday 4:30-7:30pm
• Wednesday 4:30-7:30pm
• Thursday 4:30-7:30pm
