What you bring

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop practical and creative engineering solutions.
  • Thorough knowledge of combined-cycle power plant processes, plant maintenance, and equipment reliability.
  • Experience with Process Safety Management principles, including Management of Change, Process Hazard Analysis, Pre-Start-up Safety Reviews, and compliance audits.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to build effective relationships with operations, maintenance, contractors, consultants, suppliers, and regulatory agencies.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information to a range of audiences.
  • Strong project management capabilities and the ability to balance operational priorities, budgets, schedules, and technical requirements.
  • A demonstrated commitment to safe work practices and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Professional Membership in, or the ability to become a Professional Member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).
  • Five (5) years of directly related experience as a Professional Engineer.
  • Knowledge and experience on PEIM Program and Piping Line class.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or ability to obtain.
  • Possess and maintain a valid Class 5 driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
