BIG ENOUGH TO KNOW HOW, SMALL ENOUGH TO KNOW YOU!

Allnorth is a multi-disciplinary engineering, project delivery, and construction services company delivering innovative, practical solutions to clients across the metals and minerals, energy and renewables, fiber and chemicals, and infrastructure sectors. With offices throughout Canada and the United States, we are continuing to expand our reach and build for the future.

Our people are at the heart of everything we do. Guided by our triple bottom line (TBL) philosophy, we strive to create value for our people, our clients, our communities, and our business. We believe that engaged, talented, and empowered teams are essential to delivering exceptional results and building lasting client relationships. Safety is fundamental to who we are, and we are committed to fostering meaningful relationships with Indigenous communities, giving back to the communities where we live and work, and being responsible stewards of the environment.

Our Ideal Candidate

We are seeking a Project Development Manager to join our Mining & Metals team. As a key member of the operations team, you will help strengthen Allnorth's brand, build lasting client relationships, and develop a strong pipeline of future opportunities within the Mining & Metals industry.

Working closely with the Operations and Growth teams, the Project Development Manager will help shape and deliver Allnorth's Mining & Metals strategy while driving growth across the sector. You'll also collaborate with project engineering and delivery teams, along with senior management, to balance business development, successful project execution, and exceptional client satisfaction.

If your ideal role involves spending years on a single mega greenfield project, this may not be the right fit. Our team thrives on variety. We work across multiple sectors and project types, from brownfield retrofits to new greenfield developments. It's an environment where experienced professionals can share their expertise, continue to grow, and collaborate with colleagues across North America as part of our true One Team culture.

A Day in the Life

  • Lead proposal development, including writing compelling proposals and preparing fee estimates for mining projects.
  • Define practical scopes for brownfield projects and build trusted client relationships by delivering solutions that work in the field. Lead projects from early studies through detailed engineering, with a focus on Allnorth's core strengths in greenfield development.
  • Help grow Allnorth's mining team by identifying and recruiting talented project engineers, project managers, and technical specialists, while providing leadership, coaching, and mentorship to individuals and the broader team.
  • Support project teams in delivering high-quality work that meets client expectations while protecting Allnorth's commercial and contractual interests.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships while developing a healthy pipeline of mining opportunities.
  • Work with the Operations and Growth teams to identify and pursue new clients and opportunities across the mining sector, develop account strategies, strengthen client relationships, and identify cross-selling opportunities across sectors and industries to grow revenue.
  • Maintain proactive, high-touch client communication through regular weekly and monthly reporting, effective crisis management, and timely escalation of issues.
  • Attend industry events, including association gatherings and conferences, and share insights on market conditions and emerging trends.
  • Proactively manage project delivery risks, including leading and participating in internal quality assurance reviews.
  • Provide regular progress updates, maintain accurate information in Salesforce.com, and support sales forecasting.
  • Support project development across multiple divisions, embracing our One Team approach.

What You'll Bring to the Team

  • P.Eng. designation preferred, with at least 15 years of direct industry experience in mining, minerals, or heavy industrial sectors. A degree or diploma in engineering, technology, or a related field, combined with relevant mining project experience, will also be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage and deliver complex projects across a variety of contractual arrangements and project delivery models, including coordinating multidisciplinary teams and subconsultants.
  • A strong track record of developing successful proposals for engineering, study, and project execution assignments within the mining sector.
  • Proven success in growing a business portfolio, building client relationships, and identifying strategic opportunities within an engineering consulting environment.
  • Strong commercial judgment and the ability to understand client priorities, business objectives, project constraints, and risks. You can evaluate options, develop practical strategies, and support commercially sound outcomes that work for all parties.
  • A collaborative approach to building relationships that create shared success for both clients and Allnorth, along with the ability to identify opportunities to strengthen and expand those partnerships.
  • The ability to support and contribute to Allnorth's broader vision while working as part of a unified leadership team focused on shared goals and results.
  • Confidence working across teams and disciplines, including outside formal reporting lines, to influence decisions, align stakeholders, and keep work moving forward.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel regularly, including occasional short-notice trips to client sites, offices, and industry events.
